Disneyland Birthday Vacation

I know this post is a little late, but hey, it's better late than never, right?

For Scarlett's 5th birthday we went to Disneyland. Poppy, Grandma, and my sister's family joined us on this birthday vacation. And boy did we have so much fun celebrating 4 whole days at Disneyland!

The trip was a complete surprise for the kiddos. As you can see from the video below they were in complete shock when we first told them, and then after 1.5 minutes is when it really starts to set-in for Scarlett.
The first evening, after arriving and checking into our hotel, we headed over to the Rainforest Cafe for dinner. It's tradition to go there our first night for dinner. It's also tradition for the adults (Poppy, Grandma, Brandon and I) to get our favorite drink, the Coronita! Yum!
It was there that we met up with the Wiebe family for the first time and the kids were surprised again to see that their cousins would be with us during our trip.
Poppy is always goofing off with his boys.
 The birthday girl!
 Matching shirts! :)
 Poppy and Grandma!

Scarlett gets a birthday cupcake and everybody sings to her! This was the first of many birthday songs and cupcakes. How lucky is she to have a 4 day birthday celebration at the Disneyland Resort?!
I love this picture, she was saying "For me?". She was so sweet and shy while they sang to her too.
After dinner we played around at the Lego store. The kids had fun building Lego cars and racing them.
Donovan and Colton love to hug each other.
Scarlett was surprised at the hotel with her own Minnie mouse pillow pet! She loves it.
Our hotel was right across the street from Disneyland. We had the best view...we could see the Matterhorn and the top of Sleeping Beauty's Castle from our room. Although the best part was having connecting rooms with Poppy and Grandma! :)
The first morning of our trip we had breakfast at the Paradise Pier Hotel. It was a character breakfast called Surf's Up Breakfast with Mickey & Friends. It's one of our new favorites!

Happy Birthday song and cupcake for Scarlett!
Colton was not so sure about the characters. He liked them from afar, but not too close.

All 3 kids enjoying "dancing" with Mickey and friends
Davey's new favorite ride is Indiana Jones. He rode that ride at least 10+ times during our vacation. He sat right in front of the steering wheel every time and pretended he was driving everyone on an adventure. Now he loves everything Indiana Jones. Since our trip he's watched all of the Indiana Jones movies.

Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters is another favorite. Colton even liked it!

 Group picture!
Oooh Poppy, you look so purty.

Love these two silly boys!

One of Scarlett's favorite characters to greet...Minnie!

Dinner at Goofy's Kitchen is always fun. The Mad Hatter is such a hoot to talk to.
 Firework time!
Here's a video of the fireworks.
The kids loved the "snow".

The next day the kids, along with cousins Charlize and Caleb, had princess and knight's make-overs. They loved it.

Right after Scarlett was able to meet one of her favorite princesses, Belle. Scarlett was dressed in her new Belle winter costume too!

Charlize and Scarlett got in line to talk to Santa. Scarlett had a lot to say to him. Unfortunately, I wasn't close enough to hear their conversation.

That night we ate on the water at Blue Bayou. We had perfect seats! At the end of our dinner they brought out a custom cake that I ordered from the Disneyland bakery for Scarlett. It was totally custom just for her! It was also delicious...one of the best cakes I've had!
 Scarlett's birthday cake being delivered.
It was a big hit. She loved it!

Our family dining experience is never complete without a little of this...

We also saw the World of Color's Christmas show with characters from the new movie Frozen. Now that we've finally seen that movie we can appreciate those characters a lot better!
Here's a video from the show (this is a new favorite song of ours)
The third morning we had breakfast at the Plaza Inn, Breakfast with Minnie & Friends.
Scarlett was so excited to greet Jessie.
Davey and Scarlett love this ride. However, I am terrified the whole time I'm on it. I hate heights! These pictures were taken with lots of bravery, because the whole time I just want to hold on tight, close my eyes and scream for "mommy"! Haha ;p

Grandma, here's some video of that little parade you missed.
"Hi mommy!"
All 3 kiddos in front of Carsland.

Brandon and I on our favorite ride, Scream!
The kids also really enjoyed Radiator Spring Racers.

Our last day...we finally got a picture in front of the castle!
By the last day Davey was going on all the big rides-by himself-in the front! Daddy or mommy would swap and sit next to Scarlett as she was a little more timid. See picture below. ;) During that particular ride (Space Mountain) she yelled "This is awesome, this is awesome!" So even with that terrified expression she still had fun.
The kids were so happy to greet Jack! We love Jack and the movie "The Nightmare Before Christmas".
 Aladdin!
Davey held onto Scarlett during their final ride on Indiana Jones. He was her hero.

 One last picture with Mickey!
Disneyland isn't complete without a ride on It's A Small World!
It was Colton's favorite. He was thrilled the whole time!
One last picture in front of the castle.
We stayed until closing on our last day. We didn't get home until 1am, but it was worth it! We had such a fun trip! Disneyland is always so magical...we are always making such great memories with every trip. Happy 5th birthday Scarlett! We love you!

*I documented this trip as much as I could so we won't forget. It's more for me (and the kids) than anything.*
